BTL Emsella at Stay Dry Centers is a great option for women or men of any age who desire a solution for urinary incontinence, bladder leakage and improvement in their quality of life. Its also a great idea to strengthen your pelvic floor wall at any age. In fact many of our patients are actually coming in for treatment BEFORE they see symptoms, as a preventative.

For women, the most common causes of bladder leakage include vaginal childbirth, body aging, and menopause.  For men, incontinence can be brought on by medical conditions like an enlarged prostate, diabetes, and Parkinson’s disease. It can be common after some types of prostate surgery, too

When you urinate, contracting muscles force urine out of the bladder and down into the urethra. Simultaneously, sphincter muscles around the urethra relax to release the urine out of the body. Incontinence results when the muscles or nerves that help release or retain urine are damaged.  The two most common types of urinary incontinence are stress urinary incontinence and urge incontinence. Both can be treated by Emsella at Stay Dry Centers.

Stress Incontinence
Stress incontinence is the most common type of urinary incontinence. It refers to urine leakage during exertion or movement (coughing, laughing, sneezing jumping, etc.) The main cause of stress incontinence is vaginal childbirth or menopause. Stress incontinence occurs when the tissues that support the bladder are stretched or weakened, allowing the bladder to exert pressure downward on the sphincter muscles that keep the urethra shut. This prevents the muscles from closing as tightly as they need to for urinary retention during physical stress.

Stress incontinence can be improved by strengthening the tissues and muscles that support the bladder.  Emsella at Stay Dry Centers engages the pelvic floor by giving you 12,000 Kegel exercises in just 28 minutes. By strengthening that muscle you begin to gain that control you once had. It really is life changing for so many people who suffer with this issue.

Urge Incontinence
Urge incontinence refers to a sudden “urge” to urinate followed by the involuntary loss or urine. Urge incontinence occurs when abnormal nerve signals cause the muscles in the bladder to contract. Urinary retention is lost when the overactive muscles of the bladder overpower the sphincter muscles that close the urethra.

Similar to stress incontinence, urge incontinence can be improved by strengthening the muscles that support the bladder.  Pelvic floor exercises, commonly referred to as Kegels, which strengthen the muscles and tissue that support the bladder, are the most prescribed treatment for improving urinary incontinence.  The Emsella treatment at Stay Dry Centers uses HIFEM technology to give you 12,000 Kegels in just 28 minutes. After your recommended 6 sessions you’ll have the pelvic wall you had in your youth. Its truly a miracle treatment for most almost everyone.

Emsella is the first, non-surgical device of its kind to gain FDA Approval for the treatment of urinary incontinence and vaginal laxity. Emsella is an ergonomic chair equipped with High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic technology (HIFEM®). During a treatment, the fully clothed patient sits on the chair. Electromagnetic energy then penetrates the pelvic floor, activating neurons that signal the pelvic muscles to contract. One treatment with Emsella at Stay Dry Centers induces more than 12,000 supramaximal pelvic floor muscle contractions, or the equivalent of 12,000 Kegels. As a result, pelvic floor muscles are strengthened, the vaginal wall is tightened and the tissues that support the pelvic organs are rebuilt. This leads to a decrease in urge and stress incontinence, greater urine retention, and as an extra bonus, increased sexual satisfaction. Stay Dry Centers in Charlotte, Raleigh, Mooresville and Wake Forest in NC. In Florida we are located in Boca Raton and Port St. Lucie.  We are the nations leader in offering this breakthrough treatment.
The Emsella treatment uses HIFEM technology (High Intensity Focused Electromagnetic Stimulation), and because of this there are certain patient conditions we recommend against treating. If you have a pace maker, a drug pump, a cochlear implant or a neurostimulator implanted we recommend against treating with Emsella. Also if you have any metal implants near the pelvic area (including metal hip replacements and lumbar spine screws) we may recommend against treating. During your initial consultation with our Emsella Technician we will discuss any contraindications with you. If you are unsure about your specific issue please contact us at 704-900-8025 in Charlotte, 561-288-9663 in Boca Raton, 919-576-9959 in Cary and 704-900-6034 in Mooresville and we’ll be happy to discuss.

The experts at Stay Dry Centers will tailor a personalized treatment plan for you.  A typical treatment takes about 30 minutes and you will need 6 sessions, scheduled twice a week for three weeks.  If your bladder leakage is severe we may recommend additional treatments, but normally 6 achieves desired results. Many patients will tell us they start to see benefits in as little as one treatment. The most common comments we hear is “I slept through the night without having to go to the bathroom” and “I had a coughing fit and nothing leaked!” We love hearing those.

This is the true beauty of the Emsella chair at Stay Dry Centers.  The procedure is fully non-invasive and you just sit on the Emsella chair fully clothed and properly positioned.   Once the 28-minute session has started you will experience tingling and pelvic floor muscles’ contracting, it is completely painless. Your treatment room at Stay Dry Centers is private and we offer a multitude of options to keep you entertained while sitting on your “Kegel Throne.” You may resume your daily activities immediately after the treatment.
As with any medical treatment, results may vary.* Some patients report an improvement in bladder control after one treatment with Emsella at Stay Dry Centers. However, for most patients, the average treatment plan includes 6 treatments in total, with two sessions held weekly, for 3 weeks. Some patients report desired results toward the end of their 6 sessions, others report results a few weeks after the end of treatment.  Every”body” is different, but research shows that 95% of patients who followed the average protocol reported an improvement in quality of life after just 3 weeks of Emsella, and that two thirds of the patients completely eliminated or reduced their need for pads.

In addition to being FDA Approved for incontinence and bladder leakage for both women and men, Emsella also has a number of “other benefits”.  These are more sexual in nature but are a nice by product of the treatment.  With the increased blood flow in the pelvic region and the strengthening of the pelvic wall many women experience the following:

  • Increased sensitivity and lubrication
  • Increased arousal and desire
  • Decreased pain issues
  • Increased satisfaction

In men, studies are showing Emsella to be a great non-invasive treatment for erectile dysfunction and increased satisfaction.

Emsella strengthens your entire pelvic floor and increases bloodflow in the region.  These “extra” benefits are currently under scientific study and there are a number of medical papers in review now on these additional benefits.

Emsella cost varies per patient, depending on the amount of sessions scheduled in their treatment protocol. During your complimentary consultation at Stay Dry Centers, Emsella prices will be discussed in detail. If this treatment is right for you, we will help you customize a treatment plan that both meets your needs and matches your budget.  We accept employer based FSA and HSA payments and even offer CareCredit which allows patients to pay the cost over time with no interest.  We do our best to keep the treatment affordable for patients.

Emsella is really not that expensive and your quality of life is priceless.

*Results may vary.  No treatment is promised to provide permanent results.  A guarantee is neither provided nor implied with Emsella at StayDry Centers.  Statements estimating treatment duration and the number of treatments required are based on the typical experience of our patients, however, individual experiences may vary.
